Portfolio Manager, Tech Liaison

Tim Thornton, a Portfolio Manager for Edge, is responsible for understanding the changing businesses needs of Edge’s borrowers to provide optimal flexibility and maximum availability. Tim reviews and approves funding requests and works with borrowers to ensure that they remain in good standing with their loan agreements. Along with Portfolio Management, Tim serves as Technical Liaison in the Technology department of Edge. As Technical Liaison, Tim assists the Director of Technology in selecting and implementing the best-in-class software assuring Edge remains a leader in the ABL industry. Tim has over 13 years of banking and ABL experience, beginning his career as a Collateral Analyst, advancing to Field Examiner, Portfolio Manager, and Senior Technical Analyst at Compass Bank. Tim then spent four years in the technology sector, working for Bayside Business Solutions (later acquired by Jack Henry) in the Factoring and ABL software space. Before joining Edge, Tim spent over 6 years working in the IT and Finance departments of a pediatric hospital. Tim holds a degree in Finance from the University of Montevallo. He volunteers as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Jefferson County Family Resource Center. He is a native of and resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
